"Don't Ever Leave Me" is pop vocalist Jermaine Stewart's first of two singles from 1987. The song was included on Stewart's second album Frantic Romantic. It was the last single from the album. This single was exclusively released to the United Kingdom.
The single peaked at #76 in the UK, for a total of three weeks. Unlike Stewart's following singles, this single was not issued on CD. Stewart's previous single "Jody" only managed to peak at #50[1] although the following single "Say It Again" peaked at #7.[2]
No promotional video was created for the single and no TV performances exist. This may have contributed to the single's limited commercial success within the UK.
"Don't Ever Leave Me" was written by Stewart, Jeffrey Cohen, and Narada Michael Walden. Walden is a well-known American producer, drummer, singer, and songwriter. Walden previously co-wrote "We Don't Have to Take Our Clothes Off" with Preston Glass in 1986 which became Stewart's biggest hit.
The b-side for the single "Give Your Love to Me" was included as the album closer on "Frantic Romantic", written by Jakko J. and Jermaine Stewart.[3]
